Really?

These are just some of the crazy things that happen at a doctors office.

A patient calls into a doctors office speaking to the receptionist- patient-" Yes , I want to make an appointment to see the Dr."
Receptionist -" Sure I will be happy to help you."
Patient- " I don't have anything to write with and I don't have my calendar with me. Can you call me back?

A patient calls into the Dr.'s office 10min. after their schedule appointment.
Patient- Yes, I have an appointment with the Dr. today but I am running 10 mins. late.
Will you let the Dr. know? Receptionist - Your appointment was schedule for 10min ago. Are you saying you are going to be another 10 min. before you can get here? I am sorry we have to reschedule.
Really?

A patient calls into the office. Patient-"Yes I would like to make an appointment to see the Dr." Receptionist - OK, the Dr. has this Tuesday Sept. 7 open at 1pm." Patient- OK, I can come to that. What day is that on? Receptionist- This Tuesday Sept. 7Th at 1pm. Patient- What was the time?Receptionist- 1pm.Patient- What day was that?Receptionist- Tuesday.Patient- Will you send me a card to remind me?

Really?

A patient calls and speaks to the receptionist- Patient- I need to make an appointment with the Dr. but I can only come on come on Monday oh, I am wrong I won't be home on Monday, I can't come on Tuesday, I can come on Wednesday at 4pm. I can't come on Thursday, and Friday well I can't come at all. But I really need to see the Dr.

What??????

A caller calls into the office. Caller- My name is .....and I need to make an appointment with the Dr. as soon a possible. Receptionist- what is your birth date?Patient- #######.Receptionist- I don't see you in our system. Are you a current patient of the Doctors? No this is for my mother. Good Night.

The day is done so let slumber come.
Put the worries of the day away.
Close your eyes and let your mind unwind.
Feel yourself slip way.
May the angels above guard and keep you safe.
And may God grant you another day.

This last week my family and I went on vacation to Lake of the Ozarks in Mo. The weather could not have been better. The temperature was in the low 100's to high 90's. Not a drop of rain to be found. We had the opportunity for my sister and her family to join us for that whole week.
The agenda for the week was how much fun can we have.

The house we stayed at was right on the the lake. We had a three bedroom, two bathroom, kitchen, dining room, living room house which included the use of two jet ski's. This was the perfect place for nine people. Exercise was a given each day since we had to walk down 40 steps to get to the boat doc and 40 steps up to get to the house.
The boat doc had a very nice size sun deck. This was perfect for jumping into the lake.
Our water activities included swimming, jet skiing, boating, tubing from a jet ski, and more swimming. Oh and and I almost forgot the
infamous water balloons.

Each day we woke up to a beautiful hot sunny morning. The second morning however at 6am the three boys were woken to a very loud order from my husband. He said " Hey get up and get into the lake and get the jet ski you did not fasten last night." All three boys jumped out of bed, hopped into the lake and swam to get the jet ski in the middle of the lake. It was a great morning for a early swim. That is an event they will never forgot.
To the right is a picture of the boys getting the jet ski.

One day we did rent a boat and took a trip to Ha Ha Tonk State Park. The State Park is a
beautiful place to visit. The park is home to multiple sinkholes, caves, springs, natural bridges.
The most popular part of this park is the ruins of a castle at the very top of the cliff. If you ever get a chance you should check this out. When you do go to Ha Ha Tonka make sure you bring good walking shoes. To get to the top of the cliff it is 300 steps up and 300 steps down. You do work up a sweat going up there. No problem though you can take a dip in the lake when you get back down from your hike. That is what we did.

One day when it reached 103 we decided not to spend time in the water during the day. We all wanted to go somewhere that was cool, so we went to Bridal Cave in Thunder Mountain. This was spectacular. It was 103 outside but in the cave it was cool 60 degrees. That was the place to go on such a hot day.

As our vacation was coming to an end I could not help but feel how grateful I was for this trip.
To be with my Husband, Children, Sister and her Husband and their Children. It was a true gift from God. To make this all come together and have everyone get along was very special for me.
It was the special moments that I spent with each one of them that touched my heart.

If you are ever wondering what does fun looks like? well just look at the pictures above and look at the pictures below. That is what fun looks like.

In other words a good time had by all.

The power of Prayer

I know it has been a while since I last wrote. To tell the truth there was not much going on to talk about. However that has changed. Last night while my family and I where sleeping, our house was broken into. Yes, we were BURGLARIZED!
Someone or Some people took it upon themselves to walk into my house and take what was not theirs. I must say I was very shocked when I saw my back door wide open this morning. At first I thought maybe my husband got up to let the dog out and did not close the back door. I noticed the back door open to our garage, with the garage door open. I went up to ask my husband if that is what happened and he said no why do you ask. It was at that moment the room I was standing in was spinning. I ran to the kitchen looking for my purse. I could not find it anywhere. I informed my husband I could not find my purse. That the back door was wide open with the garage door open when I walked into the kitchen. I ran up to the kids bedroom to find them in their rooms sleeping. I woke them both up and informed them I think we were robbed. Now the family is up looking around the house to see what was missing. All that we could determine was what was in our kitchen and our dinning room was taken.
My purse, my husband work lap top, my husbands phone, and our camera.
I called the police filed the report. I called all the necessary people to inform them of what I was missing from my purse. I have to tell you I am sick to my stomach that this happened. While I was on my way home from the bank, I said a quick prayer.
I thanked God for keeping my family safe while we were sleeping. I can live with some things missing, but I can't live without my family. While I was thanking God, I was a little selfish and asked God, If the people who took our things could somehow find a way to get my purse back to me with all my cards and information back that would be nice. In my purse was my eye glasses I use when I am at work. I really needed them. I was not expecting anything more from God. I felt funny even asking him for that. As I walked into my house I see on my kitchen table MY PURSE!!!!!!
My husband got a phone call from a Gaston saying they found my purse by a pump. The person working called our house when I was at the bank. So my husband went to pick it up for me and then he went back to work. All the important things I needed were in my purse. I again was blessed.
There is a God, and the power of prayer does work!
Oh, and make sure you LOCK YOUR HOUSE UP!!!!!!!

What was that all about

I am writing this because I just don't know what to make out of this. Maybe if whoever reads this can help me.

On May 27th, I received an e-mail from a long lost cousin. I was very surprised to say the least. The e-mail was an invitation to attend her oldest sons graduation party. I was very touch that she would even want to extend the invitation. We were never close as children. In the e-mail I was asked to send her my other brother and sisters e-mail addresses so they could get an invitation as well. I thought maybe now that we are adults with our own families she maybe would want to try to reconnect. One can only hope. I accepted the invitation. In her e-mail she never said when the party was going to be. She did say they were watching the weather to pick a date. I replied that I would be happy to attend the party, just let me know what the date would be. I never got a reply. To this day I am still waiting for the date. Then on on May 30th, I got a phone call from my sister who said she never got an invitation and that the party I was invited to was held on Sat. May 29th.
My sister said our brother received a phone call from our Aunt who invited our brother to the party. Our brother did not go to the party. When I heard this I was so mad. Who goes to the trouble of sending a empty invitation? What kind of person does that and WHY?
In other words, What was that all about?

One step a head, two back..

My day started at 5 a.m. with my lovey old dog who woke me up before the alarm did, to inform me had to go out. After rubbing the sleep from my eyes and making the coffee, I was looking out the kitchen window thinking to myself what a beautiful, peaceful morning it was. Then I looked towards the calender on our wall and there it was plain as day, on today's date it read Appointment! O.M.G.! I knew my son had a Dr. appointment, but I didn't know what time. I frenetically look in my ipod calender and I see that the appointment time reads 7am. I knew right then my beautiful, peaceful morning just gone to hell in a hand basket. I couldn't call the Dr.'s office because they did not turn the phones on until 8:30am. Which meant that their office did not open until 8am. So, Like the good mother I am, I wake my son up and tell him the good news. Well, let me say I am one lucky mother to have a son who is so kind about a little mishap like that one. To smooth things over I bribe him with breakfast before we went to the Dr. office. We arrive to the Dr.'s office at 8am. Embarrassed that I don't know what time the appointment was I was graciously informed it is at 9:45am. Well, the good news is that we did not miss the appointment, and we were not late. (lol) The bad news was the Dr. was not due to the office until 9am. So we went home and waited for the appropriate appointment time. I then had to call the office I work at and inform them that I was going to be late for work. It's a good think I have a great office to work at.
The Dr. appointment for my son was with his pulmonologist. My son suffers with asthma. The appointment was just his 6 months check up. I thought that this simple check up was going to be a good visit. We learned today that even though he is not symptomatic, his asthma is not good. My son's asthma is in a moderate to sever range. According to the tests he had today, his he has lost 1/3 of what his lung capacity was six months ago. I was shocked to say the least. My son has no symptoms of active asthma that I could see. This young man plays baseball, hockey and never complains that he is having a hard time breathing. The Dr. explained that It is the non symptomatic patients that are the scariest. That is because one minute you are feeling fine and then you can have an attack the next minute.
I am so happy we went to the Dr. appointment. We have changed his medicine and I hope he will have better results in 6 months.
So to sum up, my beautiful, peaceful morning turned out a little hectic but very educational to say the least.
In other words, I am very grateful that things turned out as well as they did.
Thank you God for that.
